Morning Cup Networking

Community Guidelines & Participation Standards

Morning Cup exists to foster meaningful business relationships, professional growth, and local collaboration. As our community continues to grow, clear expectations help ensure that meetings remain professional, inclusive, and productive for everyone.

These guidelines apply to meetings, online participation, directory listings, and website visibility.

1. Professional Conduct & Language

Morning Cup is a professional networking organization.

  • Disparaging, racially insensitive, or inflammatory language is not permitted.

  • Members are expected to communicate respectfully at all times.

  • Discussions should remain business-focused.

We are committed to maintaining an environment where all individuals feel welcome and respected.

2. Faith & Personal Beliefs

Morning Cup Networking, as an organization, is not affiliated with any specific faith or belief system. However, we do recognize that one's faith may be an important or integral role in one's business or business dealings.

Members are welcome to describe their own company or organization as “faith-based” during their 1-minute elevator pitch if applicable.

However:

  • Elevator pitches should focus primarily on the member’s business, services, and value.

  • Excessive witnessing, preaching, testifying, or centering the majority of the 60 seconds around personal faith is not appropriate.

  • Meetings are not to be used for religious or political persuasion.

Morning Cup is open to individuals of all backgrounds. Our focus is business growth and professional relationship-building.

3. Meeting Structure & Time Limits

To ensure fairness and efficiency for all members:

  • Elevator pitches are limited to 1 minute.

  • Shout-outs are limited to 15 seconds.

  • This provides enough time to share what went well or highlight a positive experience, without extended storytelling.

  • Moderators may politely enforce time limits to protect the structure of the meeting.

Structure ensures equal opportunity for every member.

4. Directory Listings

Morning Cup maintains an online directory as a benefit of active participation.

  • Directory submissions may be edited for clarity, formatting, professionalism, and guideline compliance.

  • Listings must remain business-focused.

  • Promotional exaggeration, misleading claims, or inappropriate language may result in revision or removal.

Leadership reserves the right to maintain consistency and professionalism across all listings.

5. Participation Requirements & Directory Term Limits

Active participation strengthens the network.

  • Directory listings are reserved for active members.

  • Members who have not attended a meeting within the past 6 months may be temporarily removed from the website directory.

  • A courtesy email will be sent inviting re-engagement.

  • Listings may be reinstated upon returning to a meeting.

The directory may be audited periodically to ensure accuracy and active involvement.

6. Website Advertising Opportunities

Morning Cup will be implementing paid promotional placements on the website homepage.

  • Ad space is available to members.

  • Advertisements must comply with Morning Cup’s professionalism standards.

  • Placement, pricing, and duration are subject to availability.

Additional details will be provided as this program rolls out.

7. Leadership Discretion & Enforcement

Morning Cup leadership reserves the right to:

  • Address violations privately

  • Issue warnings

  • Edit or remove directory listings

  • Limit speaking privileges

  • Revoke participation if necessary

These measures are taken to preserve the integrity, professionalism, and effectiveness of the network.
